Elkhorn Dairy remnant structure, really cute and ready to sketch. Watercolor over pencil on Lana sketchbook.
at Elkhorn Slough

One of three pages of white-tailed kite scope-drawn studies. Same bird, all three pages.
Late afternoon brown pelicans and western gulls take over the sandy strand along the harbor at Moss Landing, CA. Drawn through the scope.
Bobbing on the swell just off Moss Landing, ducking under the breakers. No pun intended. Drawn through the scope.
Diving for crabs and mussels, crunching between white teeth, rolling over and under the water to emerge with freshly wetted seafood. Drawn through the scope.
My last morning at Elkhorn Slough, brilliant sunshine on the water, red leaves on a low bush, glowing. Old, decomissioned Elkhorn Dairy barn standing on the hill. Watercolor over pencil on Lana Sketchbook.
