Elkhorn Dairy remnant structure, really cute and ready to sketch. Watercolor over pencil on Lana sketchbook.
at Elkhorn Slough
Back when I started birding they were called white tailed kites, then they were called black shouldered kites, and now they’re called white tailed kites again. Scope drawn.
Diving for crabs and mussels, crunching between white teeth, rolling over and under the water to emerge with freshly wetted seafood. Drawn through the scope.
6B pencil.
My last morning at Elkhorn Slough, brilliant sunshine on the water, red leaves on a low bush, glowing. Old, decomissioned Elkhorn Dairy barn standing on the hill. Watercolor over pencil on Lana Sketchbook.
