It was my fault. I was allowed to suggest a pose today, and said, How about this one? As the session progressed, the model’s muscles twitched and her toes curled. I felt her eyes on me, and felt twinges, too- of guilt.
Some poses are easy to hold, but others challenge the body. Pillows placed strategically may diminish the agony, but pressure points develop and feet fall asleep. Off the stand, wrapped in a cloth robe, she danced from foot to foot to ease the pins and needles. Back on pose, she was, of course, beautiful.
So, please let me offer my humble apology to her and any model who has ever endured a painter’s offhand whim. Lesson learned. I’ll try not to do it again.
If they ever let me choose another pose.
Happy Friday.
Pain comes with the territory. With practice, we learn what poses are best for short times, and those best for long poses.
Thank you! Glad you appreciate the model.
Ouch! indeed…I never had to hold anything for that long. I guess I was lucky, only modelling 10 or 20 minutes for newbies. The worst of it was getting cold in the studio.:-)
She was a brave soul! Nicely done!
