Winds whipped through the Deer Park in Klampenborg today, blowing leaves off branches just when they’d gotten some autumn reds and golds. A Red deer stag rested under beech trees with his harem while a fallow deer stag skirted around the grove to graze at a respectful distance. At one point the red male stood up to bugle, which likely had nothing to do with the fallow deer, and everything to do with testosterone. Pencil in Robert Bateman 8 1/2″ x 11″ sketchbook.
