At last, time to go. The bags are packed more or less within the weight limit, the house is clean, the head is ready. We leave a midwestern prairie deep freeze and head for a Peruvian Amazon steam bath. I’ll be back January 10th. Everyone have a great holiday!
My trusty purse-sized paint kit
Field scope no bigger than a compact umbrella, and just as light...Everything goes into ziplock bags- we hike in from the river to the field camp, with a near certain downpour on the walk-in.Tubes were too heavy, so I squeezed some gouache (opaque watercolor) into this pill box.
Looking forward to reading about the adventure, and seeing the results of all that inspiration. Several years ago I spent a few days on the Napo River, upstream from there, in Ecuador.
The Amazon looks pretty tempting from up here in the Arctic.
Your compact, water resistant packing peaks my interest. Look foward to hearing how it all goes. Have a great trip!
