Sketch of the Day: Lightvessel at anchor, Nyhavn

The Lightvessel Fyrskib XVII Gedser Rev, decommissioned and permanently moored along Nyhavn canal. Once a floating lighthouse, essentially, built in 1895, now a museum ship. And a real beauty, moored to the dock below our window. Watercolor over pencil, 5" x 8" Moleskine sketchbook.
The Fyrskib XVII Gedser Rev was a Lightvessel, essentially a floating lighthouse. It was built in 1895 and served until 1972. Purchased and restored by the National Museum of Denmark, it’s moored to the dock below our window. It’s also pictured on the back of a 20 kroner coin. More about this beautiful ship here. Watercolor over pencil, 5″ x 8″ Moleskine sketchbook.
